Sangiovese

Sangiovese is a high-quality red grape from Italy that is used to make Chianti Classico, Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. It is also used in countless other Italian blends. Sangiovese turns jammy in hot weather climates, but in moderate climates shows dried herbs, sour cherry, plum favors, and an appealing dustiness. Like many other Italian varieties, Sangiovese has medium-high tannins and high acidity.
