Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio (Pinot Gris) is one of the prominent white grape varieties of Alsace, France, but is also grown in north-eastern Italy, Hugary, New Zealand, Tasmania and Oregon. Pinot Gris can create wines of richness and complexity as well as light-bodied, fairly uninteresting wines. When vinified as a serious wine, Pinot Gris shows nutty, earthy notes with spice and honey on the palate.
